Decide on a thing you want to write a poem about. It can be a mountain, an animal, a plant. It can be anything that has a recognizable shape. Write meaningful descriptions about it that fit its shape. Notice that poetry often uses incomplete sentences – it’s OK here. However, don’t do this in any other type of writing. Hint: You may want to use a simple drawing to help you fit your ideas into your object’s shape. You can see the faint lines for the tree behind the lines of the poem about a tree. |
