STEP INTO THE GED
Unit Project: Anger

For one week, track your angry emotions. Develop a table like the one below. Write down the event that caused you to be angry, irritated, depressed or upset. After you record your information, create a bar chart to express your mood for the day.

6 AM Stupid alarm clock wouldn't stop
7 AM
8AM Upset - had to go to work
9AM
10AM
11AM Driver honked at me without reason
NOON
1PM
2PM
3PM Janet called about the car. I can't pay for the repair.
4PM
5PM Hungry and didn't want to make dinner.
6PM
7PM
8PM
9PM
10PM Tired of this routine. I want a better job.

At the end of the day, decide how you would rate your anger each day. On a scale of 1-10, write your anger amount for the day. 10 would be extremely angry. 0 would mean not angry at all. 5 would fall in the middle. It would mean you were angry for about half of the day.

At the end of the week, create a chart like the one below. On the left of the chart, write rows from 0-10 (Anger rate for each day). Below each column, write days 1-7. Then draw a line or a bar for each day, going from 0 to the rate you gave that day.

Would you say the person who completed the chart below was an angry person? Would it help for them to talk about what made them angry each day?

Sign and date your poem, and place it in your folder for your instructor.
