To review, go to
Percentages Part 1 You've learned two ways of figuring amounts from percentage information. 1- Find the Part
2 - Find the Whole Go back and review parts 1 and 2 if you are uncertain about how to use the formulas. Finally, let's find out who to find the percentage from the whole and part amounts. 3 - Find the % For example: I borrowed $250.00. I have paid back $187.50 of that amount. What percentage have I paid back? What percentage do I still owe? When you have the amount of the whole and of the part, you must change the process to find the percentage they represent. The whole is 100%, of course. What about the other part? Divide the Part by the Whole. The answer is the percentage the Part represents. $187.50 / $ 250.00 = .75 or 75%.
Find the part of the equation that is missing: whole, part or percent. 1. 670 = 25%
2. 312 and 560
3.75% of 732
1. 11,300 and 3852
Now you have completed the circle. Keep in your memory and you'll never have trouble solving percentage problems!
